As a Boston DJ for over 15 years I've had a lot of experience with different equipment from different brands. One of my favorite pieces of DJ equipment is my JBL EON speakers.

I've been using the JBL EON G2 15" powered 2 way speakers for the past 3 years with great success. They provide a great combination of what DJ's should be looking for in their equipment.

For starters these speakers have built in amps, which makes it much easier for setup and breakdown at events. These amps run independently so if one speaker goes down, the other continues to work. Not the case if you only have one amp and it goes down in a traditional DJ setup.

The amps inside these JBL's are very impressive and powerful. They total 390 watts of deliverable power with 300 watts going to the 15" Differential Drive low-frequency driver with dual neodymium magnet for low distortion and light weight. And 90 watts going to the 1" throat diameter JBL compression driver with titanium diaphragm and terro-fluid cooling. All I know is they sound great and are more than powerful for any application up to about 300 people.

The next thing I love about these EON G2 speakers is how lite weight they are. They are made with a high impact resistant plastic case making the overall weight of the speakers reasonable at about 45lbs each. We all know how important weight is when your breaking down from an event at 2am! JBL made a good move when they changed the color from Gray on the original P15's (the first generation of JBL powered speakers) to black on the G2's. The only problem with these cases is that they get scuffed easily. If you can buy the G2 speakers at the right time, JBL will offer free bags to carry and protect the speaker cases. These bags are also very high quality and will last a long time with proper care and respect. Either way, you will definitely need to get protective carry bags for these speakers.

When I purchased my pair of G2's they were considered B-Stock. I was able to save about $400 on the total price of a pair (about 30%). The only problem with the B-Stock was that the cases and the aluminum fins, which vent the heat build-up, had some imperfections in the coloring. You can't even notice unless you are right up on the speakers, which most people will not be. Other than that the B-stock speakers work great, and came with the same JBL warranty. These are not the same as refurbished. It's been my understandings that B-stock are items that have not passed the final inspection process for physical appearance issues, not technical issues. Refurbished products are items that have actually been sold and used by a customer, returned and then reconditioned by the manufacturer and then resold again. Either way, you can save some money and get the warranty.
